What is the difference between 3000K and 4000K in office lighting?
Color temperature changes how a space feels. 3000K is warmer, while 4000K is more neutral and crisp; the choice depends on function and identity.
3000K
A relatively warm light that can suit reception, hospitality and selected break areas where a softer atmosphere is desired.
4000K
A more neutral light that is common in work areas because it provides visual clarity without the colder feel of higher temperatures.
Should the whole office use one temperature?
Not necessarily. Different zones can use different temperatures when the transitions are controlled and the overall design remains coherent.
The number is not everything
Light quality, color rendering, illumination level, glare and fixture distribution are equally important.
